Whoa there! We weren’t expecting this! Garboyl Lives hit us in the face with awesome stoner psych blues, this time at a sold out Hard Club where people gathered to see the legends.
Before that happened, it was time for the Finnish band “Kaleidobolt” to take the stage, a really cool group most people had never heard of, including us.
With a fistful of energy, “Kaleidobolt” shocked our asses with all the colors in the visual spectrum… plus other colors you only get to see on acid!
Their drummer REALLY loves what he does, and it showed. He made an amazingly sweet fucking drum solo… unlike most that become disasters… This one was not, mad props. “Kaleidobolt”’s electrified power and enthusiasm made for an excellent opening act that got everyone headbanging and screaming for the band’s genitals.
Without further stalling or hyping up, “Radio Moscow” took to the stage like they usually do and began laying down the blues to an extremely excited audience.
As the first chord rang out, the smell of weed immediately started to fill the room… I swear we had nothing to do with that.
Although not nearly as enthusiastic as the first band in terms of stage energy, their classic tunes mixed with the audience’s love for “Radio Moscow” made for an extremely enjoyable and groovy show.
Sadly for us, we have the habit of listening to their albums from start to finish without interruption, so we don’t really remember all the song’s names, only a handful.
They played “250 Miles”, “Brain Cycles” and a bunch of new songs that we loved but also hadn’t heard yet.
The audience was so horny for these guys, they even cheered while the guitarist was changing the chords…just feeling the crowd’s energy made goosebumps run up our arms.
After the song “Dreams” and before hightailing it, they came back to a still eager audience to play “Deep Blue Sea” and “Deceiver”.
What an amazing time to get stoned my friends, delicious rhythms and mind grabbing grooves filled the night, it would have probably filled Hard Club’s Room One… but that’s for another time.
